We are excited to announce two new changes for the Tulsa PRIDE 2008 Pride Parade! First, the Pride Parade will be moving to Downtown Tulsa! Second, the Pride Parade will be held in the evening!
Under Mayor Kathy Taylor’s leadership, Downtown Tulsa is experiencing a major revitalization. Many new stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues have opened up in Downtown within the past few years. And this year, Tulsa will be opening our beautiful new arena, the Bank of Oklahoma Center. All of this is great news for Tulsa, but our community has another reason to be excited about Downtown Tulsa... the beautiful, 18,000 square foot Dennis R. Neill Equality Center that is the new home of Oklahomans for Equality. The Equality Center is located at 4th & Kenosha and online at www.okeq.org.
Like many Southern states, June in Oklahoma can be unbearably hot. We will be having our first night-time parade this year in order to provide some respite from the heat.
parade route
Staging for the Pride Parade will begin at 7:30 PM at Boulder & Brady. The parade will step off at 8:30 PM. The Parade will head East on Brady to Elgin and will then turn South on Elgin to 4th Street. At 4th & Elgin, the Parade will turn East on 4th Street and will end at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center at 4th & Kenosha. As the Parade ends, the Block Party will continue to rock the night away!
